This year marks 25 years since Cassandra’s death. As we honour her memory, we also remember all women and girls whose lives have been lost to gender-based violence.

On 27 November, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Cassandra Centre will host an awareness walk in Brixton. This event is not only a commemoration but a call for collective action.

We will honour those whose lives have been taken, stand in solidarity with survivors, and challenge the attitudes, behaviours, and inequalities that allow violence to persist in our communities.

We are making a special appeal to men and boys to join us. Ending gender-based violence is everyone’s responsibility. Men and boys have a crucial role in promoting respect, challenging harmful behaviours, and helping to create safer communities for women and girls.

By coming together, we send a powerful message that violence against women and girls will not be tolerated and that lasting change requires all of us.

Together, we can help build a future where women and girls can live free from fear, abuse and violence.

Join us in Brixton on 27 November. Stand with us. Walk with us. Be part of the change.
